OHSPRA Board welcomes new, but familiar face

Change and transition are inevitable, the one thing we can always count on is the dedication of colleagues from across the state willing to serve on the OHSPRA Board. This summer we transitioned as a board and welcomed back Melinda Briggs, Director of Communications at Little Miami Local Schools. Melinda will serve as the Director of Contests and Awards for OHSPRA. Melinda served as Secretary of the board 2013-2014. Congratulations to Melinda and all of these officers on their election/re-election.

President-Elect - Alicia Mowry

Treasurer - Patti Koslo

Dir. of Contest & Awards - Melinda Briggs

Dir. of Professional Development - Kari Basson

Dir. of Communications - Kurt Moore

As board members move into new positions, we are fortunate to have former director of Contests and Awards, Olivia Bronczek, Communications Coordinator for Massillon City Schools, remain on the board as the Director of Membership, a position that was held by President-Elect Alicia Mowry. OHSPRA Past-President Crystal Davis, Public Relations Coordinator for Pickerington Local Schools was to transition off the board, but decided to accept the open position of director of sponsorships/partnerships at the request of new Board President, Lou DeVincentis. One of the most important positions on the OHSPRA Board is keeping track of our work during our meetings. Audrey Holtzman, Director of Communications and Community Relations at Parma City Schools is our board secretary and historian. Archives and record keeping mean everything as we all know.

Lastly, I am now the Past-President of the OHSPRA Board and I encourage members to get involved. Please approach any of our directors if you would like to help support the work of OHSPRA. I am also our connection to the national chapter as I am entering my second year of a three-year term as the Mideast Vice President for NSPRA. If you are not a member of NSPRA, I highly encourage it. It expands your network even further and there are some amazing resources that will be available to you as a member.
